Q. Does the insurance for your Rolls-Royce cover it to be hired out as a wedding car?

A. Yes, it most certainly does! My Rolls-Royce is covered comprehensively and, included
in that cover is use for weddings. This means that it can be hired as a wedding
car for the bride, bridegroom, bridesmaids, best man, pages, ushers, bride's family,
groom's family or indeed any other person who is a guest at your wedding and for
whom you wish to provide a very special wedding carriage!

Q. Is your Rolls-Royce properly maintained?

A. Yes it is. Reliability is exceptionally important in a car which is going to be used as a wedding carriage and my car is carefully looked after by a Roll-Royce and Bentley factory trained technician who is  very highly regarded by Rolls-Royce and Bentley owners both in this country and overseas - he even maintains cars in the USA! He is a member of the Rolls-Royce Entuiasts' Club and delivers lectures to its members. He really did come with my car, having cared for it for many years by its previous owner and he services it for me just prior to its annual test - which is about every three thousand miles. In between annual services, he cares for the car when it is necessary.

Q. What happens if your car breaks down or is involved in a collision either of the day of our wedding or very close to it?

A. According to Rolls-Royce, these cars do not break down, they 'fail to proceed'! Well, we live in the real world and we all know about 'The best laid plans of mice and men' Sadly, no matter where you hire your wedding transport, cars do break down and they do become involved in accidents. Indeed, I got one of my first bookings because the car hired for the groom and best man was involved in a collision just days before the wedding. And, quite recently, although I had played my part in taking a groom to his church, I remained available because the chauffeur of the vintage car which was due  to convey the newly married couple to the reception, had grave doubts that his car would make it!
In fact it did just make it, but had to be trailered back to its base from the reception venue. It is
ironical really, because this vintage car was sourced just a few days before the wedding because the original vintage car booked had blown its big ends! Obviously, the older the car the greater the risk!
Should the worst happen, I would make every attempt to arrange a vehicle similar to mine and, I do have contacts who may well be able to provide such a car. However, apart from servicing every 12 months/3,000 approximately, I do run the car or a very regular basis and it is equipped with a
professional booster pack should its battery (which was tested and replaced September 2010) run
flat.

Q. If I hire from a wedding car company, am I more likely to be provided with a replacement car if this is necessary?

A. Probably not. Wedding car companies aim to have all of their bridal carriages out as frequently as they possibly can - especially week end summer weddings.

Q. What exactly do we get for money?

A. My standard wedding car package is for the exclusive use of my champagne Rolls-Rolls for up to four  hours and 40 miles (calculated base-to base), with additional miles/time being available for a reasonable extra charge. The car will be properly prepared and decorated with new ribbons & bows, with a floral arrangement of white and ivory silk flowers and artificial greenery adorning the rear parcel shelf. The chauffeur will be correctly attired in either a black or charcoal jacket and trousers with a matching genuine chauffeur's car - complete with cockade (and correct clothe peak, freshly laundered crisp white shirt, polished black shoes and wearing either a black or silver tie (which ever you choose) or, if required and stocked, a tie chosen from my selection of coloured ties to match your own colour-scheme.

Q. If we want ribbons and bows to match our colour-scheme, rather that ivory or white, to decorate or bridal carriage, do we have to pay extra?

A. No, there is no surcharge. Although I hold a large stock or white or ivory bows and ribbons, I also stock some other colours. However, if I don't have your colour and providing time permits, I will happily order a set of three bows and ribbon at no extra charge to you. However, I cannot guarantee to match your colour-scheme exactly. I have noticed that  some wedding car companies charge as much as £10 for non-white ribbons!

Q. Is it essential for us to view your Rolls before we book it or, can we do everything on line?

A. Although I do really like to meet potential clients and be able to show off my bridal carriage to them, it certainly is not essential as the entire booking can be done on-line. I guess that about 50% of my clients book solely on-line and, I'm delighted to say, that I have only had compliments on and after the day about the car and the service which  I offer. Clients viewing seem to be less as my testimonials increase - I must be doing something right!

Q. If we decide to confirm a reservation, what are the terms?

A. On reservation, I require a non-refundable booking fee of £60 with the balance needing to be paid one month prior to your wedding day. Stage payments are acceptable if this is easier for you.

Q. What methods of payment do you accept?

A. You can pay the booking fee by cheque, on-line or PayPal by either debit or cred card. The balance can be paid using the same methods, but should you decide to pay it by PayPay, an additional charge of £5 is levied to go towards the fee which I am charged. This does not apply when paying the booking fee by PayPal.

Q. Are there any advantages to hiring a modern classic wedding car rather than an older or vintage car?

A. I think that I might have answered this with the vintage London taxis answer, but it is really a matter of personal
choice. My Rolls has a superb twin level climate control system which is powerful enough to power 30 fridges and
which, at a cost of over £350, was brought into the 21st century in September 2010. It also has ABS, rear safety
belts and a 6.750 cc petrol injection engine. The ride is far superior to most earlier Rolls-Royces as is the interior
comfort! Being a modern classic which has only travelled 53,000 miles (as at July 2011) and, being maintained
regardless of cost, it should be -  I don't want to tempt fate by saying this - more reliable than a lot a older, poorly
maintained wedding carriages!
